For yesterday, we have mock interview with Mr Abdullah and Mr Farouk. Before we start the session, both of the trainer gave us some important tips and input to be use later on. I feel relieved because most of the questions that have been juggling in my mind is now answered. Thank you Mr Abdullah and Mr Farouk! =)
Let me share some tips with you guys. After discussion among group members, we found that the most killer questions will be:
Why should we hire you? (for this question, you should answer by explaining your strength with example. Market yourself as much as you can) Same goes to the question ' What makes you so special?'
The difficult question will be the situation-handling question that require you to think before answer. It don't have fix answer because the interviewer just want to know how you deal with it. But this kind of question is a little bit tricky and you must answer depend on the situation and you have to consider the post you are applied for. For example, if you are a researcher which manage to produce new variety of pesticide after a long period of research. Then you noticed that the pesticide have only a weakness but other aspects is just perfect. Are you going to release your finding or KIV for further improvement? As a researcher, you should say NO, as a scientist should always put the ethic first but if you were applying a job that have to deal with business and marketing, you should say YES which give the interviewer an impression that you are able and brave enough to take risk in your business.
Besides, if you are competing with other candidates with an equal qualification, how would the interviewer choose the best candidate??? Well, whether you like it or not, they will evaluate you by personality and outlook besides skill in communication. That is why you need to know how to make yourself look good in front of people. Do you have that corporate image to impress them? So, here the grooming class will be worth for you to attend.
As for today, it's a very long day. We did the public speaking session where everyone have to talk. Mr Hisham is the one evaluating us. Nazrin shows a very significant improvement and i'm proud of him. As for me, he said that my voice is ok but i read too much.....i guess because i really rely on the notes as i know we can bring note. As a result, i tend to not seriously memorize the point and then, that is what i did...so-so public speaking. Never mind =) i take this as a challenge to improve myself. Wait for my next presentation!
