Neuro Linguistic Programing~

Here we go…we start a new week with an interesting topic with Mr. Faizal Kamal. What comes to your mind when you first heard about this topic? As for me, I start imagining my brain with a billion of neuron connecting each other and control whatever action I have made. NLP is actually the study of the structure of subjective experience and what can be calculated from that and is predicated upon the belief that all behavior has structure.

NLP uses self image and attitude towards illness to effect change and to promote healing. Hope is our greatest asset. It is one of the main reasons why placebos (sugar pills used in clinical studies) work. We also know how effective prayer can be when it is combined with faith and hope. When a person loses hope and feels helpless in the face of a chronic disease such as AIDS or cancer, it is very easy to lose the hope; the body may just "quit trying." If the patient is made aware of his or her unique abilities and possibilities, he or she may see things differently. Now, the body's natural healing power can be harnessed to do the job.

As in our session, Mr. Faizal help us to determine what is actually we want when we first come to this course. Is the desire is still burning in us or has already disappear? Most of us want to improve ourselves in term of soft skill, confidence, creativity, behavior and even personality. During this session, he trying to tell us that no matter how hard we try to change, if we don’t start from inside, from our spirit, we won’t be able to change it forever.

So, the first thing he did is guiding us to clean whatever bad memories in our mind that always block us from any improvement. When everybody is clean, he tries to build up our strength from inside so that we feel free to accept knowledge and changes to be a better person.

Go Negotiate!!!!

For the last Thursday and Friday, we have another session with Mr. Hisham which is ‘Negotiation Skills’ session. By definition, business negotiation is the process by which typically two or more parties come together to try to create a mutually agreeable contractual decision. Each party will have competing interests and, thus, negotiations can be quite intricate and lengthy. Negotiations end when all parties have come to a final decision and have agreed to contractual guidelines. However, negotiation not only required when it comes to business but also in daily life. For example, when we want to buy fish at the market and ask for permission to go out from our parent, we also negotiate.

However, do you feel that someone is continually taking advantage of you? Do you seem to have to fight your corner aggressively, or ally with others, to win the resources you need? Or do you struggle to get what you want from people whose help you need, but over whom you have little direct authority? If so, you may need to brush up your win-win negotiation skills. Obviously, we don’t negotiate to lose.

Therefore, in order to master the technique of negotiation to obtain the win-win situation, some preparation should be done. So we might have do some research before out for a negotiation.

Goals: what do you want to get out of the negotiation? What do you think the other person wants?
Trades: What do you and the other person have that you can trade? What do you each have that the other wants? What are you each comfortable giving away?
Alternatives: if you don't reach agreement with the other person, what alternatives do you have? Are these good or bad? How much does it matter if you do not reach agreement? Does failure to reach an agreement cut you out of future opportunities? And what alternatives might the other person have?
Relationships: what is the history of the relationship? Could or should this history impact the negotiation? Will there be any hidden issues that may influence the negotiation? How will you handle these?
Expected outcomes: what outcome will people be expecting from this negotiation? What has the outcome been in the past, and what precedents have been set?
The consequences: what are the consequences for you of winning or losing this negotiation? What are the consequences for the other person?
Power: who has what power in the relationship? Who controls resources? Who stands to lose the most if agreement isn't reached? What power does the other person have to deliver what you hope for?
Possible solutions: based on all of the considerations, what possible compromises might there be?

Effective negotiation helps you to resolve situations where what you want conflicts with what someone else wants. The aim of win-win negotiation is to find a solution that is acceptable to both parties, and leaves both parties feeling that they've won, in some way, after the event.

Quick Plan To Be Done

F to the U, to the T U R A! Futura, Futura, Futura to the future! Futura..............BEST!!!

Come on guys, you can do it. Huhu...i hate to create cheer again...sound childish! But it did give some spirit sometimes. Hmmm....today i'm very excited...well i love Wednesday since school because for me it's like a starting point for countdown to the weekend.

Anyway, that is not the thing i want to tell you guys. The main point here is that, WE CHANGE OUR PROPOSAL!!!!! while everyone else was starting their proposal writing, we still at the back, discussing what should we do??? the last idea was quite complicated and we were kind of run out of time. From ORYZA we move to mushroom extract.....then to compost kit....to the fertilizer.....change to chili soap....get back to compost kit with fertilizer outcome....then only we decided to stick to the first idea but a with little bit of manipulation. We want to produce a sachet which contain the starter of compost mechanism which is microbe.

They might be variety of microbe which responsible to do the job, but the different is that our product have the ability to quicken up the compost mechanism. Well why need to compost??? the answer is simple....we want to save the world...reducing the rubbish dumping area and can even encourage people to do gardening with their own homemade fertilizer. There might be some challenges to make it happen but i realize that everything needs effort...don't you think so? As long as we care...we will support it...

So guys....save the world! Futura.....BEST! =)
Save the world

Let See What You Got!!!

For yesterday, we have mock interview with Mr Abdullah and Mr Farouk. Before we start the session, both of the trainer gave us some important tips and input to be use later on. I feel relieved because most of the questions that have been juggling in my mind is now answered. Thank you Mr Abdullah and Mr Farouk! =)

Let me share some tips with you guys. After discussion among group members, we found that the most killer questions will be:

Why should we hire you? (for this question, you should answer by explaining your strength with example. Market yourself as much as you can) Same goes to the question ' What makes you so special?'

The difficult question will be the situation-handling question that require you to think before answer. It don't have fix answer because the interviewer just want to know how you deal with it. But this kind of question is a little bit tricky and you must answer depend on the situation and you have to consider the post you are applied for. For example, if you are a researcher which manage to produce new variety of pesticide after a long period of research. Then you noticed that the pesticide have only a weakness but other aspects is just perfect. Are you going to release your finding or KIV for further improvement? As a researcher, you should say NO, as a scientist should always put the ethic first but if you were applying a job that have to deal with business and marketing, you should say YES which give the interviewer an impression that you are able and brave enough to take risk in your business.

Besides, if you are competing with other candidates with an equal qualification, how would the interviewer choose the best candidate??? Well, whether you like it or not, they will evaluate you by personality and outlook besides skill in communication. That is why you need to know how to make yourself look good in front of people. Do you have that corporate image to impress them? So, here the grooming class will be worth for you to attend.

As for today, it's a very long day. We did the public speaking session where everyone have to talk. Mr Hisham is the one evaluating us. Nazrin shows a very significant improvement and i'm proud of him. As for me, he said that my voice is ok but i read too much.....i guess because i really rely on the notes as i know we can bring note. As a result, i tend to not seriously memorize the point and then, that is what i did...so-so public speaking. Never mind =) i take this as a challenge to improve myself. Wait for my next presentation!

Want to Look Beautiful??? Dress Beautiful!!!

Everybody wants to look beautiful, attractive and gorgeous. But how would you deal if your style is actually not so good and whatever it is you need to change. Are you willing to change after all this time???? If you want to change but don’t know how, are you willing to learn???
Well, this is all about confidence and positive in receiving others comment for improvement. The decision on what to wear, how to wear, what colour to choose is actually depends on us. There is no exact rule about that except in the office, of course you have to dress formally.
As for me, I noticed that I am two-third cool and one-third warm in term of skin colour which mean I can wear a cool colour most of the time but it is not wrong to wear warm colour sometime. I can say my skin colour tone is flexible (^_^)
For the scarf, I totally cannot wear the new fashion of awning scarf because my face shape not suit that. I am going to stick with my style now but maybe adding some accessory to make it nicer. Then for shoes, I need to get familiar with high heel because I am not so model height. Huhu
Well, Leilanie also show us some videos for makeup style which what I am waiting for from the beginning. I love makeup but I want it to be easier so that I don’t have to wake up very early in the morning just to put on makeup on my face. So in this class I did learned something.
At the end, I can conclude that all this stuff in order to improve our appearance actually needs efforts. We need to find the best in ourselves in term of strength, skill and not to forget personality.

Communication for Leader

How to be a leader and how to communicate as a leader? That is the first question come in my mind after look at the title. For the whole day, I am imagining myself as a director of a project. I have about 15 people working under me and I have to observe all their works and make sure everything is happen according to the plan. Basically, that is what the trainer wants us to know.
After explaining some of the skills in communication for a leader, the trainer leave us to discuss among ourselves and pick one leader with a very skillful communication and share with others. As for my group, we choose Mahatma Gandhi as our role model.
At the middle of the lesson, we were given a case study about a project that ended up with huge finance problem. We manage to find out the reasons that cause all the chaos and ineffective communication between them is one of the main causes. We also manage to find out the barrier in their communication.
As what I have learned from the module, I can conclude that as a leader we should communicate in a very effective way so that we can win our employees heart and inspire them to give the best in their work. Besides, we also have to how to overcome the barriers such as poor listening, speech, emotional attachment and others.

Mahatma Gandhi the legend of India

Biofashion in the house! (^_^)

The lesson continues today (wednesday) and I can feel that everyone is excited. I don’t know why but I can simply feel it. Maybe I am the one who excited for the day because I get enough sleep last night =)
The lesson is getting serious as we need to choose an interesting topic to present in front of others. We choose ‘BIOFASHION’ and we include a short biofashion runway before we start.

The aim is just to give awareness to people to take care of the environment. By using material from nature instead of using other material consisting harmful chemical and toxic we can actually protect our environment before it is too late.

Presentation Skill Empowering Process!!!

For Tuesday, we continue our lesson with Mr. Abdullah Yunos and his friend, Madam Rusilawati regarding skill in presentation. We were practice talking to the passive audience and active audience. Well, what do you feel if you were talking to someone and he or she did not give any response at all? You feel like want to kill them right? And you were like….oh god, I do not know what else to say. Hmmmm boring………....(-_-)
But, what if your audience is giving you their attention, answer you when you are asking, laugh when you make joke??? This is what we want! In order to get this feeling which I can say the real satisfaction to talk in front, we need to empower ourselves with powerful skill in presentation.
pleasant eye contact???
As the result of what I have learned from today’s lesson is the skill in presentation includes preparation of the topic, eye contact, know the audience and practice.

get their attention =)

Proposal Planner (Monday-13 dec)

Only today I realized that my resume is just a very ordinary resume which I can say no excitement at all. I should cut some unnecessary data and add on something bright. Keep it sweet and simple not really easy to apply then. So I got comments from others that help me a lot to improve my resume writing and especially cover letter for job employment.
As has been told last week, we need to plan our proposal for finale presentation today and explain it briefly to the trainer. So we need to discuss among our group members and the result is……. ‘ORYZA’!!!!!
Well that is our product’s name, which refers to rice. This new variety of rice will be the first choice for everyone as it has low glycemic index and high in fibre content which is very good for diabetes suffered person. The idea is actually came from the evolution of golden rice that have been invented before which inspire us that we could possibly add on special characteristic to the rice for good. Of course, the method will involve molecular work by transforming the responsible gene to produce ORYZA.
As for now, we believe that the idea is relevance to the current situation in Malaysia which we can see now, percentage of people suffered from diabetes is keep on increasing. So, as this variety of rice can be produce, we can help the patient to take care of themselves without avoiding rice. Besides, we also can help others to practice a healthy diet.

Resume Writing Skill

Why should we hire you??? That is the most killer question in an interview whereby we need to promote ourselves like no other candidate can beat us at all. At the same time, yelling loud in our heart said ‘you must hire me sir, I am the best!!!’
Well, before we got the opportunity to be asked like that, the first impression to attract the panel is…..RESUME! How attractive your resume??? How creative you are playing with words in presenting yourself???
I am sure each one of us already knew how to write a resume. So today lesson for me is just about to refresh our knowledge and skill in writing a resume and cover letter for job application.

Effective Meeting

The topic is actually ‘Conducting Effective Meeting’. What is the different between effective and efficient??? For today, the lesson is quite serious for me plus the lecture is given by a lecturer from UNIRAZAK. Attending a meeting is not new for me but the situation is different by mean now we were exposed to the rules for a meeting to be conducted in a company. Last time in college, it just a committee meeting regarding a small project to take care of. But now is the time for us to prepare for a company meeting regarding a billion cost of project which involves many important people in industry. Are you ready???

There are some steps to be take care of before a meeting is being conducted. Firstly, the notice should be given earlier so that the people on the board will be well prepared. As we know, the aim of a meeting is to make a decision. There are a lot of things to be discussed in order to make a good decision for the sake of a successful project. We do not want our meeting to consume a lot of time without any decision made right? That is why we have to be prepared before attending a meeting.
On the other hand, make sure our meeting is legal or else any decision come out from that meeting is not valid. What can possibly make our meeting illegal? The answer will be quorum for a meeting is not enough. It sounds not so important, but if someone in the meeting revealed that the decision made while the quorum is not enough, we were dead!

There are two important person in a meeting is highlighted which are the chairman and the secretary. Secretaries play their role before, while and after the meeting is held. They need to make sure all the preparation is going smoothly so that the becoming meeting will not face any problem at the end. While for the chairman, they will play a very important role in making a decision by considering everyone in the meeting.

Back to the question about the difference between effective and efficient, an effective meeting means that the meeting meets the objective. However, the efficient aspect is more focusing on the resource such as the budget, accommodation, employee and others. Are we using them efficiently?  Or we just simply waste them away??

Therefore, I can conclude that it is important for us as a newcomer to the industry to learn about the important of conducting an effective meeting with an efficient use of the resource.

You Are The Master of Public Speaking???

Since school, teachers always talk about the important of public speaking. In college, lecturers also encourage us to improve our skill in public speaking and now here in BeST programme again we got the opportunity to polish our skill in the art of public speaking session with incredible trainers, Mr. Hisham and Miss Nani.
For me, the approach used by the trainer in the introduction is great. His beautiful personality is actually playing the role in influencing our mood for the day. I feel very lucky to be in the class because he is very talented and has a lot of experience in public speaking. So this is the best opportunity for me to improve my skill.
We actually did not really depend on slides in class but we learned through others experience which mean when someone volunteer to tell their story or experience in public speaking, Mr. Hisham will comment and give his advice. At the same time we also discuss the situation to ensure what we should and should not do if we were at their place.
At the end, I can conclude that the main key to be a good public speaker is knowledgeable, confidence, great personality and spontaneous. As long as we keep ourselves updated with current issues and have our own thought regarding the issues, we will be able to talk whenever people ask us to do. But sure without confidence we cannot even tell the truth in court what else to talk in public. For the personality part, I am sure you guys agree with me. The great personality clearly make someone interesting in front of people by mean the great personality will help us to win audiences’ attention until the end of our speech. The spontaneous aspect is actually more focusing on your skill to handle panic situation while giving speech. Well, there are many people in front of you and listen to your speech, even VVIP is there. So you have to control the situation and avoid mistake or else that will be your last time giving speech or be the MC of a function.
Last but not least, practice make perfect. So, do your practice in public speaking every day, with your mom, dad, sisters and brothers. You also can talk to yourself in front of the mirror. It never wrong when comes to learning!

How to Reach an Audience through Blogging

Blogging is one of the ways to express feeling, share experiences, give opinions and even for business for some of us. However, there is no point if we were blogging without any follower to comment on our post isn’t it? Or in the other words we just blogging with ourselves. What profit we will get if no one notices our business trough blogging? So from my observation, blogging is not a ‘one-way’ communication but it is ‘two-way’ communication which requires feedback from others so that we can get answer for what I ask, get advices to settle our problem and be friend when we were lonely. There is a phrase say that ‘two head is better than one’ which mean everybody have their own way of thinking and the difference is actually very useful to solve a problem that cannot be settle by one person. Now we can see that blogging is all about sharing.
So, in order to find a real satisfaction while blogging or we can say it is a sharing process we should put some effort to attract people from all around the world to read our posts and further follow our updates all the way down. Firstly, I think open a discussion about interesting topic on our blog which possibly became common interest for others such as football, pollution, war and politic can help us to reach an audience through blogging. Besides, we should also use a very nice and friendly language while posting or reply a comment to be close to our readers. No need to be too straight or too emotional to stress the issue in our post to avoid people feels afraid or annoyed to read our blog.

As soon as we get a new follower, do welcome them and reply their comment to show our appreciation on what he or she had commented us. On the other hand, for those who were about 24 hours in front of your PC posting on your blog, it might be interesting if you can add chatting widget on your blog and chatting with your close friends, common readers or even with the newcomers in order to know them well and always keep in touch. All these suggestions can help us to maintain our blogs’ followers while keep increase them from time to time. It is not impossible if our blog can become the most accessible blog if we know how to improve it.

Get Things Clear

Why suddenly have to get things clear??? Hmmm....from previous posts, i've been writing about my life changing and also others' life changing...but both happened to be good....As i've been thinking everyday before i fall asleep...life keep on changing whether we want i to be or we don't want it to be...

People seem to be very happy if their 'life change' just happen as what they plan it to be...well i think that just nice...but we were not the ONE who control how our life is going to be...So what i'm trying to say here is that what if everything just happen otherwise??? Moral down right??? full of disappointment....hatred....sadness!!!

However, u have to remember one thing....this is not the end of it....when we lose...fight back babes...Always believe that something good is waiting for u in the future...u just have to accept whatever happen to u positively and find your way back...

Last but not least i hope 1 Muharram 1432 will bring us bless and happiness all the way....For those were on the down side of a wheel even the wheel u are refer to is a tank wheel (long period of fall)...be patient as Allah always be with u...
